“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

"The New York Times” review of the book called it “ a blend of melancholy, sweet, philosophical and funny’ and said it “stays in the course of tragic realism”.
Bestselling author of The Book Thief, Markus Zusak, describes it as "a novel of life and death and the people caught in between" and "John Green at his best”.
One reader said that she hated this book, hated it so much. She hated the fact that it gifted her with so much laughter, smiles and chuckles….
John Green stated that the first inspiration for The Fault in Our Stars came from when he worked as a student chaplain at a kids' hospital. He found the children to be as human as healthy people, He wanted to speak for those children and argue for their humanity. In the meanwhile, The title is inspired by Act 1, Scene 2 of Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar, in which the nobleman Cassius says to Brutus: "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, / But in ourselves, that we are underlings.”
When I started the first chapter of this book, I said to myself “oh, cancer, the group wont like it, I guess. I remember once we even argued we couldn’t accept the sad ending, so how are we going to handle such a sad beginning.” I should not judge the book by its first chapter. After reading a few chapters, I could feel why the rating is so high and why many readers love it. Not only did Green shine the light in the story but it reflected the value of human being, especially American’s. You might not agree with me. No worries, we can discuss about it when we meet for the book.
It’s difficult to talk about the book which i can't disclose it. Therefore, Let’s read first, then we can share our opinions with some tea or coffee.
