蕭春雷讀城。從廈門的獨特地理出發，通過眾多老地圖，圍繞著“屏障”、“門戶”和“半島”三個概念，為廈門的歷史重新分期，并討論廈門的城市性格和未來命運。視角獨特，觀點新穎。

蕭春雷是廈門晚報資深編輯，長期主持《最廈門》周刊“尋找老廈門”、“南閩地理”等專欄，熟悉廈門文史。

蕭春雷還是《中國國家地理》和《華夏地理》（美國國家地理雜志中文版）撰稿人，并在《華夏地理》開設“讀城”專欄，解讀拉薩、喀什、重慶、長沙、臺北、哈爾濱等中華名城，并結集出版《華夏邊城》（“中國的掌紋”書系之一）。

作者簡介：

蕭春雷，男，福建泰寧人，作家、編輯，曾用筆名司空小月、郭又驚、十步等。從事文學、藝評和人文地理寫作?！吨袊鴩业乩怼?、《華夏地理》（美國國家地理雜志中文版）等雜志撰稿人。曾獲中國新聞獎，著有“中國的掌紋”書系（《自然骨魄》《大地棲居》《華夏邊城》）等著作十余種。

在廈門晚報長期主持《最廈門》周刊“尋找老廈門”、“南閩地理”等專欄。
